Friulane – also known as “furlane’ or ‘veneziane’ – are traditional footwear from the North-Eastern part of Italy. They were originally made for the gondoliers of Venice, who needed a stylish but non-slippery shoe to step on the gondola. Their name originates from the Friuli village of Italy.
